the church is not some building or event we all come to. the church is not limited to those with good theology or those with spotless pasts. the church is simply those people who have encountered the grace and truth of jesus christ. it is our hope to embody that grace and truth in denver.
at refuge community church, we believe that we are defined more by our relationships than a list of statements. we affirm that doctrine and theology are important, but neither defines who we are as a church or as a people of god. we exist in the tradition represented by the bible, which contains narrative, law, poetry, prophecy and personal correspondence. since that is what has been passed to us, we would rather let it stand alone. further, we trust the holy spirit to guide every disciple in truth and faithfulness.
it is our goal to be the church in and for the world. we believe that there are five primary ways that is manifest. these ways overlap and interact much like a venn diagram. they are mission, discipleship, worship, service and fellowship.
